Unable to drag Visio 2007 control to a win form ...

Hello,

I am unable to drag and drop a Visio 2007 ActiveX control into a win form. I
am getting a dialog indicating "An unspecified error" - Com Exception
X80004005. I am using VS2005 and Vista. Are there any known (either
officially or unofficially) issues with using Visio 2007 control with VS2005
and Vista.

Using Visio 2007 control, VS2005 and XP SP2 present no problems.

Any feedback is appreciated.

I am in the same system as yours, but there is not such a problem.
Did you installed any bad application?

It is not clear to me what you mean by "bad" application? /Alaa

are you at sp1 for vs2005 yet? I had the problem but it has since cleared
up, Part of the issue is that vs2005 and the IE folks made some changes and
are looking for .net 2.0 controls, visio isn't at that level yet, to put
them into the toolbar. The initial workaround that I had was to open a
project that I had built in vs2003 that had the control, migrate it, then
drag the control from the project to the toolbar. I just checked my
installation and it does allow me to put the drawing control into the
toolbar.

Yes, I am at sp1 for vs2005. I will try your workaround this evening and post
