Unable to edit contents of Spreadsheet

Sometimes, when i click on an excel cell, i cannot edit anything. The whole
cell gets highlighted and keeps on selecting different rows and coloumns.
I try to close the file, it doesn't close, i have to do so from Task Manager.
If I restart my computer, i am able to carry on my work normally.

Try reloading the drivers for you wheel mouse
