Unable to edit fields without clearing entire field


I am creating an adp with a SQL Server 2000 back end. When I try to edit a
text field it deletes the entire thing and there seams to fill the entire
field with trailing spaces. How do I overcome this? If I mess with it
enough I can eventually get it to edit, but I can’t just click in it and
type. How to I make it easy for the users?
