Before I describe the problem, I thought it would be a good idea to include a
list of programs and hardware I am using. I have a HP Media system loaded
with Windows XP Pro. I use Thunderbird as my default e-mail program and
Firefox as my default web browser. In addition, I have a Treo 650 phone that
I sync to Outlook 2002. The problem I am having with Outlook has been with me
and I just put up with it. Now that I have been laid off, I had the time to
post for a solution.
First, whenever I open Outlook, I can always open and edit my PST Calendar,
Contacts, Tasks, etc files without any problems. However, if I try to click
on or expand the Outlook Today icon, I get the following fault shown in the
left window pane.
"Unable to expand the folder. The set of folders couldn’t be opened. The
..DLL file for the information service could not be found. MAPI was unable to
load the information service PSTPRX.DLL. Be sure the service is correctly
installed and configured."
I also get the following fault shown in the left window pane when I open one
of the folders shown independent from th other PST files and folders.
Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the
specified folder location. The .DLL file for the information service could
not be found. MAPI was unable to load the information service PSTPRX.DLL. Be
sure the service is correctly installed and configured.
I have uninstalled and repaired the Outlook 2002 program many times and have
yet to solve this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You, JAD
