I checked with my IT and they have this policy of purging emails older than 2
months. I guess I am responsible for backing up my own email. I am beginning
to wonder if there is any advantage to using IMAP over POP if I am required to
download emails locally and then archive them for future reference.
Can I configure entourage to automatically move my emails to a local folder
while using still using IMAP? Or does this mean I have to move to POP?
Since the IMAP is coming from your provider, they probably purget that cache
as well.
There used to be a script to move mail from Exchange to folders "On My
Computer" but it's broken now. You can find third party applications to do
this. See this link for info and a link to a third party application,
Entourage Exchange Accounts Optimize. There might be others.
AutoArchive Exchange Account to "On My Computer"
Move all e-mail older than 60 days from your Exchange account folders to
archive folders within the "On My Computer" folder tree.
