Unable to Get Office X to work on Dual G5 w/ Panther, Need HELP!

Good afternoon everyone,

I just got a new G5 Dual 2 GHZ Mac. I successfully install Office X but
when I try to open any of the apps such as word or excel , I get the
following error...

Word has unexpectedly quit, send error report to apple? I tried updating
office with the latest patch from MS, and nothing... with or without updates
it does the same thing. Any one out there have any suggestions or a fix to
this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Is Office up to date on your Mac (10.1.5) ?? I have absolutely no problem
running it in my Dual G5. You can also try repairing permissions , this very
often helps...

I am new to macs, how do you repair permissions?

Since your Mac is new, I would assume it's running Mac OS X 10.3.
Launch DiskUtility, select your hard drive in the left hand pane, select the
First Aid tab and press "repair Disk Permissions"

Sicne you've never ran it before, I would suggest that you restart
afterwards. You should run this command from time to time (once every two
weeks - a month and after installing a few apps).

Also make sure the Mac is up to date (you should be in 10.3.3 by now).
