Unable to import makecert certificate into Certificate Store

R

Rob Stewart

This is my first attempt at using digital certificates and am having problems
importing a certificate I generated with makecert/cert2spc into *other* PCs
(not the one I generated it on).

I go through the Import process (via IE-->Options-->Content-->Certificates)
and everything appears OK, even get message that import was successful, but
the certificate does not appear in the Personal list (or anywhere).

Have tried importing both *.cer & *p7b with same results.

Perhaps I'm approaching this incorrectly...what I'm trying to do is avoid
the Office Macro High Security setting from preventing vba/dlls attached to a
document from loading, so I'm trying to get my certificate into the Trusted
Sources list.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Based on my understanding, currently you are importing certificates into a
new machine and wanted to avoid Office High Macro Security.

There is one good article in MSDN on this topic. It lists all the steps we
need to accomplish it. Please refer to the following:
"MS Office 2000 Macro Security"

rity/o2ksec.mspx#XSLTsection126121120120

Hope that helps.
