Unable to insert a picture from file

Has anyone had this problem. Whenever I try and insert a picture from file, Word says the file is either damaged or not in the right format. But I have no problems inserting the same file in Excel. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, that one has been mentioned. Some one said the problem was corrupt
prefs--follow the instructions here:

PS. *Don't* Trash your preferences file, though--I think MS wants a copy
to try to find the cause of the problem.

Yep, that procedure fixed the problem. Thanks so much for the fast reply. It turned out to be ~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Word.plist

Where shall I send the corrupted file?

I also wonder what actually corrupted the file?

Eh, prefs go crazy sometimes.

Send the file to (e-mail address removed) (only remove the
ONLINE part first). Link this thread or something so that he knows what
it is for. I think that's the address
