Unable to install Office 2003 junk email filter for Office updates

Auto updated detects that I need to install the office 2003 junk email
filter. Start download but it says installation unsuccessful. All ofice
products are closed during install.

I am experiencing the same problem trying to install update KB890854. I
posted to "General questions" on 1/19. If you solve the problem or are
successful later, please post and I'll do the same.

Dave, Try running the repair option from the Office 2003 CD, if you have one.
Insert the CD and dbl click Setup.exe. It worked for me, thanks to a
gentleman by the name of Christian.

I was having a problem installing updates and I remembered that I had
disabled Office Source Engine (ose.exe). If you have done this then you can
temporarily enable it by right clicking "My Computer" and then selecting
"Manage" and then selecting "Services and Applications" and then "Services."
Find Office Source Enging and enable it. Hope this helps. Microsoft's
assistance is non-existent.
