This is my second attempt at this as the first was erred out so excuse me if
this inadvertently posts twice. My question is this:
I upgraded my Win XP system to SP a couple of days ago and everything was
working great (even ZoneAlarm because I disabled the built-in Windows
firewall). I tried to install Office 2003 SBE today and am receiving an error
indicating "Office 2003 - This version is not compatable with your system.".
I spoke to Gateway tech support (manufacturer of the laptop and OEM of the
software) and they suggested I remove SP2 and try again. I have now removed
SP2 but continue to receive the same error when I attempt to install the
software (everything else continues to work flawlessly). I have been unable
to locate any information on this or similar errors in the MS TechNet KB nor
across the Internet. Has anyone else encountered this and discovered any way
past it without having to reformat the hard drive and start over from
scratch? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
