Unable to install Project Server 2007 Trial

I tried installing Project Server 2007 Trial on a server that contained
licensed versions of Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Sharepoint
Server 2008. I received an error that indicated that I cannot install a trial
version of Project Server 2007 on a server that contains licensed office
servers. I then built a VM Server that contains trial versions of Windows
Server, SQL Server and Sharepoint Server, I am still unable to install the
trial version. My company is really interested in this product but would like
to try it out for a few months, what do I do?

I've tried this several times, and am currently trying to work through the
correct process. Basically RTM Office Server applications cannot load on
Windows Server 2008, the patches need to be "slipstreamed" into the RTM code.
When I did this the Project Server install still bombed... In the meantime,
if you want to test the the product but don't want analysis services then you
can try the following URL
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc531331.aspx which details
installing PS on Win2008. If you need Analysis Services (and in reality you
do) then build a Windows 2003 environment.

Ben, thank you for your response, this was really helpful. I have been trying
to figure this out for a few months and this is the first really helpful
piece of information!!

Have you been able to install PS 2007 trial successfully on WS 2003?

Thanks again!

I tried PS 2007 on Windows Server 2003, and SQL Server 2005 (licensed), still
get the same 'you have licensed office server products....' message. Looks
like basic installation is the only way to go? Has anyone installed PS 2007
triall successfully on MOSS 2007?
