Hello;

running Microsoft Office 2003. I have tried to run the
automatic scan for updates. I get the following
message, "install Office 2000 Service Release 1a (English
version)" After I download it and try to install, I am
told that the installion was unsuccessful.

My pc is brand new, less than 30 days old and came with
Office 2003 and XP Pro installed. To the best of my
knolwedge it has never had Office 2000 or 2002 installed
on it. Yet in the msinfo32 under applications it shows
the 2000 Office applications even though they show as, "
has not been started or is not installed. Install and/or
start application then press F5 to refresh."

Any suggestions or help?

Thanks in advance,

Bob Brown

Have you checked in Windows Add/Remove Programs to see what other Microsoft
Office products might be installed?
