Unable to Install

I too am unable to install the pilot (Windows XP - COMPAQ OEM). I
have attempted to follow the instructions related to the IE6 problem
(including reinstalling/reregistering MSXML3.DLL), but because it is
an OEM'd version of XP, I don't have the install disks necessary to
repair the installation (assuming it is the IE6 issue reported). I am
not in a position to do an OS reload of the disk (including the wiping
required to reload the OEM version). I am currently running XP home
w/ Office 2003 (I purchased that separately and it installed without
problem).

What am I to do? I've ordered OneNote, but if the problem occurs with
the live (rather than demo) version, it will be useless (I am NOT
going to do a full system reload for the product). What am I to do?

What is the exact error you get during installation and at what point of the
installation?

I am getting the "install source corrupted" message that is mentioned
regularly here. I've review the KB article often referenced, which
basically suggests a reinstall of XP (which, as I said, is not
possible from my OEM without wiping the drive).

You shouldn't have to reinstall the OS. Just clear out your temporary
internet files from Internet Explorer and download the file again.

Gary, try downloading the SP1 Preview with the Opera browser - it
worked for me (thanks to Tony for the hint).

Which is basically the same as Tom Oliver (MS) said; clear the Temporary
Internet Files folder as Opera uses a different folder for this.
