Unable to link tables to Sybase ASE database

I am unable to link tables in A2000 to a Sybase ASE OBDC
database. The database shows up and the tables are visable
in the link dialog box. When I click OK it trundles and
comes back with "Reserved error -7748". I can extract
information from this same database with MSExcel and other
programs. Only MSAccess has this problem. What needs to be
done to allow these tables to link?
