unable to load database schema

When I attempt to load a program in Access I get this
error, " 'File name' is unable to load the database
schema. Save has been disabled." I have tried to uninstall
and reinstall microsoft office XP, is there anything I can
do to remedy this problem short of rebuilding the machine.
