unable to load service pack 1 & other updates

I had office 2003 pro figured out & then my hard drive died. I'm trying to
set it up again on a new hard drive and am having problems. 1) it tells me I
need administrative priviledges to update 2) when I just select updates
manually (i.e. service pack 1) and try to update, it tells me the update
cannot be applied. I don't remember how to fix the administrator issue, but I
did it before, and the second issue is a new one for me. I have referred to
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=884298, but I don't have any download code
subkeys it asks me to fix in regedit. I do have the disc, and I have tried
deleting and reloading the software, but that didn't help. I hope someone has
some suggestions! Thanks!
