Unable to merge from a specific excel file

Jaquelyn

I keep receiving this message when I do a mail merge with
a Word document and a specific Excel list.

Word could not re-establish a DDE connection to Microsoft
Excel to complete the current task.

It's only happening with this one particular Excel file.
(Our main personal data file). I can copy some of the
list to another worksheet and it will work, but if I try
to copy the whole worksheet, I get the same message with
the new worksheet that I just made.

Help!! It's Maddening!!

Is there anything in the sheet that might cause Excel to execute any code,
especially when it opens the sheet?

Hi Jaquelyn,

Which version of Word are we dealing with? Did it just start
happening when some kind of change was made in the data (new
fields, new records, change of field names...)?
