Unable to merge Word spreadsheet into labels

I have been unable to merge a MS spreadsheet into a Word
labels document, both document created on the same
computer.When I click on data source, no matter what
avenue I explore as to document type, the spreadsheet does
not show.

This is the 2nd time this has happened and the last time,
I gave up and copied everything into WordPerfect and had a
successful merge.

Tell me what I am doing wrong.
