Unable to modify style formatting

G

Gary Bokelmann

I am running Word 97 on Windows XP Home. When I try to
manually modify a or import a style from another
document, I hit a brick wall. I click on "Format" and
look for the "Styles" selection in the drop-down list and
it's not there -- it's not "grayed out" -- it simply
doesn't exist! It used to be there, then one day it was
gone. This happened in the past on a laptop running
Windows 98. I reinstalled Office/Word and fixed it, but
I have reinstalled Office/Word five times on this
computer and it's still not there.

Anyone ever encounter this? Any fixes?

Thanks!

Do you have your styles list set for "All styles?"

What happens when you try to create a style with the same name?
