Unable to obtain list of tables from the data source

I have just created a new contacts folder in Outlook and
then I went to Word to use the mail merge wizard for
printing envelopes. It worked fine the first time, but I
did not complete the process, because I saw some changes
I wanted to make on the contacts list. I made the
changes and shut down my computer. Today after I
restarted the computer, and tried to do the same thing
after I click on Choose Contacts Folder and Choose
profile, I get this error message, "Unable to obtain list
of tables from the data source." Any ideas on how to get
rid of that.

Thanks,
Jim

Cindy,

Thanks, but that didn't work.... The only way that I
have been able to get it to work is to go through
the "Repair Microsoft Office" setup on the disc that
Office came on. Each time that I do that, it will find
the data tables, but after I shut down and restart the
computer, it will give me the error message again
saying "Unable to obtain list of tables from the data
source"

Thanks again, but that didn't work either. I followed
the instructions, and nothing seemed to happen, so I did
a search on my computer, found the fixmapi.exe file and
tried to run it from there. Still nothing seemed to
happen. In the case that it actually did work, I opened
Word again and tried to do the mail merge. It gave me
the same error message "Unable to obtain list of tables
from the data source."

To all those who have tried to help, I say, "Thank you."
I finally figured out the problem today, and maybe the
solution will help others. I use Eudora as my email
program and when I would open Eudora after going through
the "Detect and repair errors in my office installation"
it would ask me if I wanted to make Eudora my default
email program and I would always answer "Yes." So after
opening Eudora and making it my default email program, I
would get the error message, "Unable to obtain list of
tables from the data source." To fix the problem, I
simply went into Internet Explorer and changed the
default email program back to Outlook and it works fine.
