Unable to open a presentatioin

When I try to open on particular presentatio, created some time ago,
last opened in OS 9, I get an error message that states: file already
existsna dn cannot be replaced. Is there anyway to make it clear to
the computer that I am not trying to replace the file but want to open
it?
