A
Ant
Hello.
My client is having problems opening existing *.pptx files and saving
new *.pptx files in his very old, updated Windows 2000 (W2K) SP4. He has
the latest MS Office Compatibility Pack SP3 (released last month I
recalled) from Windows Updates. PowerPoint says an error in accessing
the *.pptx files. For kicks, I even temporarily disabled Avast's
real-time protections, but that idea didn't fix it. Rebooting didn't
help. I also scanned for possible malwares, but nothing bad except
Internet cookies.
I had no problems opening an existing .PPTX in my old, updated Office
2000 SR-1 Premium + Office SP3 converter pack in my old, updated Windows
XP Pro. SP3 machine. However, I have no option to save a new .PPTX file
so I couldn't verify this. It sounds like an isolated PC issue or an
Office 2007 converter pack compatibility bug with Windows 2000 SP4?
Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
