Unable to Open Any Files

This is not a Crash, per se, however I felt this would be
the appropriate forum given the choices...

I am receiving the following message whenever I try to
open ANY Excel file (Excel 2003):

"The file cannot be opened because your virus scannere
has detected a problem with the file."

Furthermore, my virus scanner has detected NO INFECTED
FILES on my computer. ???
