Unable to open Clip Organizer (Office XP)

J

Joe Grover

I have a client running Windows 2000 Professional and Office XP Standard
Edition.

When attempting to launch the Clip Organizer the following error comes up:

Clip Organizer cannot complete the operation

Unspecified error
Error Code 0x80004005

I have done the following:

- Reinstalled MDAC 2.8
- Deleted temporary internet files
- Performed a Repair from the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control
Panel

This is a remote user several hours away, so I'm wondering what could cause
this issue in order to save some travel time. ;) This is a fresh
installation of all apps that she was given, so this is not something that
was working one day and not working the next.

Thanks!

Hi Joe,

I'm assuming from the steps you've taken that you're using the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328166/en-us?FR=1
(Unfortunately that particular error is a rather broad one)

Has Office XP been updated through SP3?
