Unable to open Enterprise Projects location from File->Open dialog

In my current client's environment we are experiencing an issue when
attempting to perform a File->Open then open projects under the Enterprise
Projects location. On 2 developer PCs we had Project Professional 2007
installed and they are able to see the Enterprise Projects location in the
File->Open dialog box. On roughly 10 other project manager PCs we had
Project Professional w/ SP1 installed and they do not even see a location for
Enterprise Projects. If a user attempts to perform an Insert->Project, the
Enterprise Projects location appears on the left, but won't actually switch
to that view when selected as it remains on whatever was previously selected
(My Docs, My Computer, etc.)
Does anyone know if SP1 for Microsoft Office Project 2007 broke that
functionality or another reason why the Enterprise Projects location would
disappear?

Hi,

My first hunch here is that the MSP client is not connected to the server.
Have you configured the account properly to connect to the server via
Start --> Programs --> Microsoft Office --> Microsoft Office Tools -->
Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 Accounts utility?

Apologies if this is stupid suggestion - its just that the only time that I
know of when this will happen is when the client is not connected to the
server...

Yes, I have personally checked on 3 machines that they were all connected
using a Project Server Account with the correct URL. I even logged on to the
machine as myself (with full PS admin privs) to verify that it was not a
permissions limitation. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Gary,

Yes we installed both the WSS 3.0 SP1 and 2007 Microsoft Office Servers
Service Pack 1, which includes Project Server 2007 SP1.

Follow up to this problem. We decided to implement the recently released
Infrastructure Update for Office Servers (Project Server) and for Project
2007 in our test environment. This was prompted partly due to this problem
we experienced of opening project plans but also for the other improvements.
After installing the update for Project 2007 on client machines, users were
able to open projects from Project Server through the client app Project 2007
thus resolving our problem. We will be rolling out this update to all
production workstations soon. Thanks to everyone for their comments and
suggestions.
