Unable to open excel file

Hi,

I have an excel file which has grown fairly large ( Size - 10.4 MB ).
We use Excel 2000 in office.

When I tried to open the file today, it takes a long time ( Excel
tries to open the file )and then gives the following error message
"Too many different cell formats" and on pressing OK, the file closes.

Is there any way I can open this file. It contains valuable data.

Open a new blank Excel worksheet.
From the Main Menu select Data > Import External Data > Import Data
Navigate to the Workbook in trouble, select it and click "Open"
You should be able to import the cell values without formatting.

PS I'm using Excel 2002 so there might be some differences.
