unable to open file

Processor: Power PC

files are closed following the Save As command. On trying to reopen - Unable to open file. The files can be successfully opened on a PC but they lose all format. The files vary from 200Kb to 3Mb in size and contain between 1 and 20 worksheets.

As usual, the first consideration is whether Office 2004 (11.5.5) & Panther
(not sure of the latest) are fully updated. If not, that's the place to
start. Also, whatever the Panther equivalent of repairing disk permissions
probably wouldn't hurt as well.

If that doesn't correct the problem please reply with as mucuh additional
detail as you can, including what format the files are saved in (.xls?) as
well as what version of PC Excel you're able to open the files with &
exactly what "formatting" is lost.
