Unable to open files with Pivot Tables

I have been having a problem with a file with several pivot tables in
it. I have a data set then make a few different pivot tables to look at
the data in different ways. Then I create charts from each of the
pivot tables. We are talking a data set of perhaps 1,000 records and
then 4 pivot tables and 4 charts. After I save this file, I get
"Unable to read file" when I try to open it again. This is
happening very consistently. Can anyone tell me what is going on?
