Unable to open links in new tab with IE7 and Outlook 2007

Is this an IE issue or is this an Outlook issue? It never occurred when I
used 2003. I've already set IE7 as my default browser through control
panel.

You mean that it opens a new instance of IE instead of a new that? I believe
that is something that is still being worked on in IE7 as it does work
correctly when you have Firefox set as default. Outlook only passes through
a command to open that URL with the default browser; the browser should
handle the rest through the settings you've setup.

it works for me. check to make sure you have "Open links from other programs
in:" set to "a new tab in the current window" in your IE settings. If that
doesn't work, it could be a bug in either program.

sorry, my mistake.
yes, I am using IE7 beta 2 and Outlook 2007 Beta 2, but it looks like the
only links that open in new tabs are the ones in RSS feeds. links in e-mail
open in new windows.
I believe the problem also occurs in 2003, when using Word as your e-mail
editor.
Word always opens links in a new window, instead of a new tab. looks like
this is a Word issue, not Outlook or IE.

I have exactly the same problem !

Yes, when you click a link, it opens a new instance of IE, instead of opening a
new tab in the current instance.

This occurs no matter what settings you choose within IE7's Tabs control, and
whether you have IE7's "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" enabled or not.

Outlook 2007 Beta 2 appears to be launching a new instance of IE, rather than
passing the URL to existing instance to open.

Is there somewhere I can report this feedback to Microsoft ? I've had a look
through the Beta site, but I'm having trouble finding somewhere to report
feedback about the *product* rather than the website !

Yeah, I'm having exactly the same problem with Vista Beta 2 and Outlook 2007
Beta 2.
Is there somewhere I can report this issue to Microsoft ? It would be a shame if
it's still present in the finished versions !
