Unable to open read only file

Received an error message..."the file may ber read-only
or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or,
the server the documetn is stored on may not be
responding".

I've tried checking and unchecking the properties and
still could not get the file to load. Have attempted to
open file on two different PC with no luck. Also copied
to different folder and tried checking and unchecking
read only properties.

Any suggestions?

Jan,

Thanks for the suggestions. I worked through them except
the Open Office and Excel XP and 2003. Still could not
open the file. I'll try the last two later.
