I've just upgraded a couple of PCs to Office 2003 from Office XP, and now
that RTF files on our Netware (3.12) server won't open. When attempting to,
we get the error message:
"Word cannot open the document: user does not have access privileges".
..DOC & .TXT files open OK. Saving the RTF file locally to the PC, then
copying across to the Netware server also works OK, but when trying again to
open the RTF file the error appears. We had no such issues with the Office
XP installations.
Also, Wordpad can open these RTF files without any problems.
One thing I have noticed is that the ~$xxxxx temp files are not being
created in the folder where the files are trying to be opened from (this is
also the case for .DOC files too, though we can still open these)
Any help would be appreciated, especially regarding the non-creation of the
~$xxxx files
