unable to open saved msg

I am running Outlook 2000. I am unable to open msg files saved to a shared
folder by a coworker using Outlook 2007. Is there a way to correct this?

Tell the coworker to save his/her msg-files in the ANSI format which is
compatible with Outlook 97-2002 or you could upgrade to Outlook 2003/2007.
