last year I transferred all my word 98 docs onto a CD for
storage. I have since then moved to the XP OS. I have
been trying to open up these documents in Word 2002 but I
get error messages like the Name or drive is not valid,
check the file permissions for the document or drive and
to use the Word Open File command to open it up. none of
this works. I have had use of someone else's computer
that opens the document right up. I don't need to edit
any of these documents so the read-only designation is
not the problem..it's being able to open it up at all.
Have tried cmpatibility wizards, upgrades and all sorts
of things but nothing is working.
