Unable to open word attachment with outlook 2000

I am unable to open word attachment with outlook 2000. I
am also unable to save a word attachment out of Outlook.
When I try to open a word attachment with Outlook it opens
the c:\winnt\system32. This system I only have users
access not administrator rights. Has anyone seen this?
