Unable to open Word

After using Word successfully for a long time, I have been
unable to get it to open. Every other program in the
Office 2000 suite, however, works. I have uninstalled,
reinstalled and upgraded to SR 3 with no apparent effect.

At opening the WORD logo appears along with the folloing
error message:

WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in module WINWORD.EXE
018f:3040eaOc followed by a listof Registers, bytes and a
stack dump, all of which is indecipherable to me.

I would very much appreciate any assistance figuring out
what this means and how to get rid of the error message
and get the program to open.

I am having a similiar problem. It tells me that Windows
Word has detected a problem and needs to close. I can't
open a new or existing word document at all. All the
other programs in Microsoft Office 2000 opens just fine.
If anyone knows a way to fix this please email me.
