unable to paste to word 2000

I am unable to paste in Word. Word generates the "word has encountered a
problem and needs to shut down" error message. This has just started
happening...suggestions?

That's a fairly generic error...so you'll need to do some
troubleshooting. Try these techniques in this order...

* Clear your temp folder
* Check for addin problems
* If you're running Norton AntiVirus, disable the office addin
* Rename the Normal.dot to Normal.old and reopen
