Unable to print to my HP 832C from G5

I have a G5 dual processor and run OS X.3.5 w/Microsoft Office 2001 version
10.1.4. In word and Power Point - when I select print I get the window to
define printing specifics but after clicking the print button the Print
Center does not launch and no document prints. Any thoughts?
