Unable to publish asp pages

Q

Using FPage 2002
I've been successfully publishing my website for the last year (using FPage,
not ftp), including several asp pages which use database results created with
the wizard.
A few days ago, I made an small change and tried to publish.
The error message suggested that FPage extensions werent installed properly.
I found that deleting the changed asp page allowed publication
I tried pasting earlier versions of the asp, earlier versions of the web and
mixtures of the two.
I tried using ftp - deleting all pages, and uploading. This worked for a few
minutes, then FPage extensions dropped out. Ive contacted my host (1&1) many
times - they say no prob at their end.
Ive tried publishing from home as well as from home. At one stage I managed
to get asp pages uploaded, but then a change to the navigation structure
wouldnt work. The website is www.qer.biz Problems seem to stem from when I
disbled Fpage extensions so I could download my webfiles - I havent been able
to upload since. (Yes, I did reset them!). Any help would be most apprecited.

The FTP attempt has again corrupted the FP SE
have you host reinstall them and try opening your online web in FP

Thanks for reply, but I dont think that is the problem.
I've uploaded my site by removing all Database connections, and the SE's are
Ok now
When I use the DRW, I now check properties for errors before publishing ( I
got previous errors because I was importing from my back up disc).
Now I get the Error message that "....could not Parse".
Before it reaches this stage I get a Norton warning of Cross Site Scripting.
I foolishly disabled the Firewall and now IE explorer cant access any
websites, so I'm now using Navigator.
Could it be that my host is blocking for security reasons?
I now also need help to get IE working!!
Any advice most welcome. In the meantime I'll rest FP extensions anyway.

I've now reset FP SE's, and waited for them to reconfigure.
I republished via FP with empty asp pages - all works fine
Republishing with an asp with a Database connection, I again get a Norton
warning and then the message "The server sent response FP couldnt parse....".
The Norton details were:
Security Alert - Blockled -
HTPP_MS-SQL_XML_CrossSite Scripting
Intruder 0.0.0.0(1770) (the 1770 part is different every time)
Risk Medium
Protocol TCP
Attacked www.qer.biz (212.227.124.20)
Port http(80)

If you want to see an example of my one working asp page, that I have not
attempted to overwrite - http://www.qer.biz/prodCartsModel.asp

Incidentally, IE now works again following a reboot!

Set your Norton Firewall to allow FP

Didnt fix it. Same Norton blocking, followed by error "..Front Page could not
parse.."
Ive tried Rebooting.
Fpage was set to "Automatic" in Norton Firewall (Programme Conrol)
I reset to "Allow" , and now I've tried Manual and selected all options
I use FPage 2002 (upgrade on FPage 2000)
Norton doesnt say which version of FPage
Settings are for Home(Active)
FPage not listed under Supervisor settings
I previously tried using FPage 2000, but this wont recognise my FP 2002 webs
Any ideas please ?

Solved! (sort of)
I can now publish my asp pages, but only by disabling Norton completely.
Turning just Norton Firewall off is not enough.
I guess I need to look elsewhere to sort this one out.
Thank you Stefan for your suggestions.

Q

Problem solved
Before publishing any changed asp pages:
Open Noton Internet Security 2005
Select Intrusion Detection
Select Configure
Deselect HTTP MS SQL XML Cross Site Scripting

Re-Enable the option after publishing
