Unable to publish assignments

When using either Publish:New and Changed Assignments or Publish:Republish
Assignments I get an error message:

An update has not yet been sent to resources who have been removed from task
assignments. An update with this information will be sent now.
- click Ok to proceed
- click Cancel to close this message and cancel publishing of any other
assignment changes.

I've clicked Ok, but the assignments never get published. There does not
appear to be any activity after this click - no message in the status bar,
nothing in the spooler. The error message persists.

Any ideas on how to clear this up. I don't need the users notified, I just
need to get the assignments published!

Are there any pending updates from resources on this proejct that you have
not yet processed?

Unfortunately the answer is no.

We solved the problem by exporting the entire project. Deleting it. Import
the project...

That was more work than the words would indicate...

Yep... Been there. Did it today, in fact. I guess the project was corrupted
somehow. Glad you got it fixed.

I'm having the same problem...I have a project, added a bogus task, a
notification was never sent to the resource so there is no evidenxe the
project was ever published.

I tried saving that project to a file, deleting the project, saving the file
to project server, and it doen't appear to publish now.

I can't find an export feature?
How can I fix this?

You can't just save a project to PServer and expect it to be published.

Instead, you should use the import project feature under Tools > Enterprise
Options. This feature will run an import wizard that will help you match up
resources in the project to Enterprise Resources, and will also run
validation checks to ensure the project will work in the PServer environment.
After you have imported the project, then you can publish it.

I have the same problem. I have a project, added a bugus task asssigned to a
resource...I never get a confirmation when I publish it (it just stops) and
the assigned resource never gets an email saying they have a new task.

How can I fix this?
I'm not aware of any export feature.

I tried the import feature you talked about and that seemed to work but again
when I publised it it never notified the resources of new tasks (or
re-assigned tasks)...I suspect it still does not publish it.
