unable to publish web - error message

I've used FP2002 for a few years now and never had this problem before.

When trying to save an edited page I get this error message:

406 Not Acceptable
Not Acceptable An appropriate representation of the requested resource
/_vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.exe could not be found on this server.
Apache/1.3.34 Server at www.footy4kids.co.uk Port 80

Can anyone shed any light?

Have your host reset / repair the FrontPage extensions.

If you have a web masters CPanel, you can do it yourself.

Is the web open or just the page?

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner.
Run the functions that clear the FrontPage Temporary files and the
Cache(.web) files.

See if it makes a difference.

The web is open, not just the page I'm working on. I can add/remove shared
borders from the whole web but I can't save changes to any individual page.
