Unable to Read File in Excel in Office X for Mac

Hello I am having a problem with an Excel file. It says "Unable to
Read File"

The KB article is

It shows the fix for a PC and I can open the file on a PC but it does
not say a fix for the Mac. Any Ideas?

Pointless to guess... In order to offer any meaningful info it would be
necessary to know what PC & Mac versions of Excel are involved as well
as any additional specifics you can offer. |:>)
