Unable to receive emails I sent to myself

Hi, I'm new to entourage and have been sending messages to myself to test if I am able to receive them. Unfortunately, after 10 or more attempts, no messages came through.

I have asked someone else to send me an email and he was able to send it to me and was able to receive it too. I checked my bulk folder at yahoo online (because it doesn't go to entourage) and they weren't there too.

Can you please enlighten me on this one? It's a bit frustrating especially when I send a copy to myself to make sure the message was sent to other people. It beats the purpose of me sending it to myself if I don't get them anyway.

Hope to hear from anyone.

Thanks,

D

Are you sending from and to the same account? What happens if you send
from a different E-mail account?

Also, are you making sure to use Yahoo's SMTP server to send your
messages rather than your ISP's SMTP server? Many E-mail services such
as Comcast and Gmail will block messages when they know the message is
not coming from the domain of the sender.

For example:

If you send a message from (e-mail address removed) through Comcast's SMTP
server to another Comcast account then Comcast will think "This message
says it's from Yahoo but I don't see it *coming* from Yahoo. It must be
spam."

Hope this helps!

Hey Bill,

Thank you for your response.

I have checked and

I have tried to send from my other email account (hotmail) not through entourage but by logging on the website itself. I got that message.

I tried yahoo from the website and sent one to the same yahoo account, but sadly i didn't get it. Not in entourage, not even in yahoo (on the website).

What's going on? :(

Still confused,

D

* *whoops**

That was supposed to be...

"I have checked the SMTP server, it was the Yahoo SMTP server I was using"

If you've found that you're seeing the same problem while using webmail
(taking Entourage completely out of the loop) then you'll need to
contact your E-mail service provider. This is not an Entourage issue.

Yahoo did have issues a few weeks ago where messages were getting
delivered several hours later. Possibly they are having issues again.
