All of a sudden, a few days ago, Outlook stopped being able to receive
incoming messages (error message "Receiving reported error (0x8004210A)-the
operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving POP server. If
you continue to receive this message from the server, contact your server
administrator or ISP."
When I made the time-out setting longer, I got the following error message:
"Log onto incoming mail server (POP3)-The specified server was found, but
there was no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL
info in correct."
I did the port and SSL verifications and nothing seemed wrong.
I spent most of a day LiveChatting with my ISP, Earthlink, and--after trying
various things--they insist the problem is with Outlook.
Help! I can't receive messages from my work--either in Outlook or
apparently now in Earthlink--so I'm getting desparate. Has anybody had a
similar issue?
