Below is my original post:
I currently use Outlook 2000. Most recently I've been receiving a period
message regarding telling me I needed to load my Office CD and repair the
Microsoft Assistant. As of 3 days ago, I've not been able to receive email. I
click on Send & Receive, and it just sits there acting as if it is
connecting, but doesn't appear to be doing so. It looks like I have the SP3
update installed after following the instructions provided for checking on
it. I have a small business in my home and am relying on email as a big part
of the process. I tried the instructions for Reconfiguring Mail Support, but
it never came back with a warning message as instructed. Can anyone offer
assistance with this problem?
I have not received any messages other then a failure indication in the Send
& Receive details section. I use Roadrunner for my internet access. I have a
website where I have my email addresses and was having them forwarded to my
Roadrunner address. Did not have a problem with that until recently. I
believe this is an issue brought about by an automatic update of Microsoft
SP3 update. I have Windows XP Home Edition. I've been told that the Home
Edition gets worse the more it's updated. Maybe this is part of it. Don't
know.
