Unable to receive / send emails

Hi,

I'm using Outlok 2011 for Mac (version 14.0.2). All of a sudden, I am
no longer receiving emails and when I try and send an email, I get the
message

"An unknown error has occurred in Outlook
....
Error code: -19992"

Any ideas how I can troubleshoot this problem further? Thanks, - Dave

Refer to the solution given here by microsoft moderator. Looks slightly complicated but it is not. In my case there were no stuck messages in outbox but the sent messages were just moving into draft folder. Probably some setting was doing that. So i figured my first unsuccesful message from the draft folder and targetted that to be deleted (do a copy paste if you don't want to re type that mail again ). Then all worked.
