I configured Outlook 2003 to work with my ISP's webmail account. It was working fine for several weeks until it suddenly wasn't able to download mail from my ISP's server. I got this error message
Task 'mail.comcast.net - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
I know the problem isn't with my ISP because I have the same problem with my Yahoo Plus Mail account. I turned off my firewall/anti-virus programs and bypassed my router, still no luck. It seems like the problem is in Outlook. It worked OK for awhile and now it can only complete half the operation with send/receive.
