created a document on 3/19, it was a list of some questions i needed to ask my college counselor.

the next day, i talked to her and wrote down her VERY valuable replies.

the next time i opened the document, all of her answers were no where to be found!

she is currently on vacation and my application is due april 1!

also, when i go to file:properties:statistics the 'revision number" is 4, whatever that means,

am totally desperate (as well as pretty hopeless when it comes to microsoft products).

if you can think of anything that might help, please don't hesitate!

Try going to the list of previous documents on the File menu in Word and see
if it's there.

Maybe you typed the comments into another document. Can you think of a
distinctive word that you might have used? You might be able to get
Spotlight to find it.

You need to get into the habit of hitting Command-s frequently (e.g. when
you pause to think) and frequently backing up things like this -- e.g. on to
a memory stick. It's cheap and you end up sleeping more soundly... :)

Hop into Spotlight and do a search on the file name of the document. There
may be multiple versions of the document and you are looking at the old
copy. "Version 4" simply means that file has been saved 4 times.

You either saved the document after adding the comments, or you did not. If
you did save it, the comments are still there. If you didn't save it, they
are gone forever.

If you think you might have been using Tracked Changes, go into Normal view
and check to make sure the comments have not been inserted as Tracked
Changes or Comments that are now invisible.

Bring up the Reviewing toolbar, and make sure that Insertions, Deletions and
Comments are all checked, otherwise they will be hidden.

Hope this helps
