Unable to recover some saved files

In the past I have saved Word documents directly to a Read/Write CD without
problems.
I have accessed these documents since they were saved without problems.
Yesterday, I tried to recover one of theses documents and get the error
message
The document name or path is not valid try these suggestions,
* check the file permissions for the document or drive,
* use the file open dialogue box to locate the document.
When I look at the Documents Properties I see the file was created on "1st.
Jan 1601, 00;59;59". but this document was only created a few days ago.
There are quite a few documents with this same problem.
Can anyone please assist me in recovering these documents?

You've been exceptionally lucky in having got away with saving directly to
REM media up to now. Move the corrupt files tot your HDD and then try Open
and Repair. If that doesn't work, then they are probably corrupt.

Always save to your local HDD and then copy to REM media (all types,
floppy/CD/DVD/Flash, etc.).

Thank you Terry for your advice. I have learnt my lesson.
I have managed to recover some files but others have been trashed.
If a day goes by when you don't learn something new, it's a day wasted.
