Unable to reinstall...HELP

D

drxpsp9

I reinstalled Vista in order to correct some software issues that I was
having and so I used the disc that came with the computer (new computer with
Vista that I purchased). After the reinstall, my old Windows settings and
folders were put into a folder Windows.old. The new install left me without
Word, and many other programs.

I attempted to reinstall them from the Windows.old folder which does contain
the various Applications, but I get an error message that says: "The
operating system is not presently configured to run this application."

Is there a certain configuation that perhaps the reinstall failed to meet?
Any idea where I'd find answers to this?

Thanks for whatever HELP!

You need to reinstall the applications from the original disks. If you
didn't receive them with your PC, you need to contact the vendor who is
responsible for providing these or a recovery disks that has all the
software.
