Unable to remove Office SR-1 Professional--Help!

Folks:

Got a situation here.

I mirrored the hard drives from one workstation to the
other (similar dell computers) and office would not open.
The following error occures:

The patch package could not be opened...


When attempting to unistall said program the following
error is returned:

"The patch package could not be opened. Contact the
application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows
installer patch package"


Tried the MS office 2000 eraser utility with our sucess.
Any suggestions?
